Check out The Black Key's Chulahoma, a tribute album to the late great bluesman Junior Kimbrough. It has a killer intro on the record sleeve telling the story of Junior's influence on Dan Auerbach. He dropped out of college because his teacher couldn't transcribe Junior's playing.
Hot damn if he didn't make a fine choice well worth the price of college tuition. He learned early that groove is everything when it comes to playing guitar. Do or die.
